Question
Answer
What is executive function coaching?
EF coaching is the science and art of guiding learners to strengthen their own capacity to get things done.
Please review this article or watch this Youtube video for an in-depth explanation on what executive function coaching is and how it can help your student.
I’m not sure my child will be open to executive function coaching. What do you think I should do?
Please review this article on how to talk to your child about executive function coaching, especially if reluctant. Within it, you will find a sample script for addressing students’ common concerns.
Can’t I just be my child’s executive function coach?
As a parent, you control many aspects of your student’s life – where they live, what they eat, their curfew, etc. This unequal power dynamic can make your student very sensitive to your feedback. By having an objective professional help them with the challenges of school, it can free up space to focus on building a healthy dynamic with your student.
However, if you do want to try implementing these techniques with your student, we suggest going through this free course on how to build executive function skills.
Are your services in-person or online?
We offer online and limited in-person executive function coaching in Portland, Oregon, and willing to travel, if possible around scheduling no more than 30 min one-way from my NE Portland home office.
How long is the initial commitment?
Families typically begin with approximately four weeks of coaching, followed by a parent meeting to review progress and determine whether ongoing support is a good fit moving forward. There is no long-term commitment beyond this initial phase.
How do we get started, and what are the upfront costs?
-
After an initial consultation, clients who decide to move forward are required to complete a brief enrollment process and submit two initial payments before services begin:
-
A one-time onboarding fee of $225
-
An initial retainer of $675
Both are required to begin services.
-
What does enrollment involve?
Once services are agreed upon, the following are required prior to starting:
- Completion of the Sign-Up Form on the Lawler Coaching website
https://www.lawlercoaching.com/sign-up - Signed Service Agreement
- Signed Release of Information (ROI), if applicable
- Submission of requested access information
Services begin once enrollment is complete and both the onboarding fee and retainer are received.
What is the onboarding fee, and what does it cover?
The onboarding fee is a one-time fee that covers the time and preparation needed to start coaching thoughtfully and effectively. This includes initial setup, reviewing intake information, meeting with the student and/or parents, establishing initial priorities and goals, and facilitating an introductory meeting to launch coaching services.
Because onboarding work begins immediately, the onboarding fee is non-refundable once onboarding has begun and is separate from the retainer.
What is the retainer, and how is it used?
The retainer is applied to coaching services and related work at the applicable hourly rate, including session time and necessary pre- and post-meeting planning. Once the retainer balance is used, services continue to be billed at the hourly rate.
Do you accept insurance?
